Turn on two-step verification
- Sign in to Magica.
- Open Settings, then select Account.
- Under Profile and security, select Open profile.
- Select Security in the account window.
- Next to Two-step verification, select Add two-step verification, then Authenticator application.
- Follow the setup instructions to scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, use the manual setup key if one is offered.
- Enter the current code from your authenticator app and finish the confirmation steps. Setup is not complete until the account window confirms that the method has been added.
- If backup codes are offered, save them somewhere secure before closing the window.
Sign in after setup
Sign in as usual. When asked for a verification code, open your authenticator app and enter the current code for your Magica account. Codes change regularly, so use a fresh code if the previous one has expired. Only enter verification codes into the sign-in or account security screen you opened yourself. Never share codes, setup keys, QR codes, or backup codes in a chat, email, or support ticket.Keep a recovery option
If your account offers backup codes, keep them in a secure place you can access even if you lose your phone. Each backup code can be used only once. Use the backup-code option on the verification screen if it is available and you cannot access your authenticator. Before replacing your phone or deleting your authenticator app, make sure you can access your verification method on the new device or have an unused backup code. Do not sign out of your only working session before checking your recovery options. If you are locked out and have no usable verification method or backup code, contact Magica support. Explain the access problem, but do not send any security codes or setup secrets. If a code does not work
- Check that you selected the correct Magica entry in your authenticator app.
- Wait for a new code and enter it before it expires.
- Check that your device’s date and time are set automatically.
